That’s right kids, we are smack dab in the middle of the second season, of the “acclaimed” (and I use that word loosely) season of Jersey Shore. Snooki, Jwoww, Sammi, Pauly D, Ronnie, Vinnie, The Situation have all returned! But instead of invading Seaside Heights for the second season, the gang has headed cross country to the beaches of Miami. That’s right kids, Miami!

As we left them last season, Ronnie and Sam had called it quits, but it seems living in house together in the humid air of the MIA has sparked the overly tanned, half nude duo. For the first several episodes of the show, it was off again on again with Ronnie and Sam, fighting and breaking up more often than Heidi and Spencer.

But wait! Who’s that walking through the door? Is it the Kim Kardashian of Staten Island? I think it is! Yep, Angelina and her bitchy attitude have returned to bring enlightenment to the house, and by enlightenment I mean drama for sure. She left in a huff last season, and so far this season, it doesn’t seem like her attitude towards her roommates is going to be much better. With tensions in the house as high as the girls stilettos, it seems as if this season is more drama filled than the previous. And with rumors of a third season back in NJ, the team is in for at least another 15 minutes of fame before we find Pauly D aerating the ground with his hair, and “The Situation” working at a Laundromat scrubbing the shirts on his abs.

With the announcement of a possible third season of the series in the works, it brings about the reinvention of the gang. Pauly is seen on the red carpet wearing a suit, and Snooki has brought the hemline down, along with the bump in her hair. Jwoww has removed the highlights, and Sammi has a more “Sweetheart” look about her now.

The Jersey Shore hair style for the white carpet this past weekend was all about the straight look, with Jwoww, Sammi and Snooki all with the long, straight locks that shine for the cameras. This look is much better compared to the “Bump” style of last season, and brings the women of the “Shore” more in tune with the hair of the day.

Want to catch this look? The big winner for hair for a series was again the hottest show on television, MAD MEN. It was for the episode "souvenir". The head hairstylist is Lucia Mace. Congratulations to Lucia and the entire team!

They all do incredible work on that show. I had always thought of women from the Mad Men era as stiff and uptight. It did not look like a lot of fun to be a women during that time to me. However, Mad Men has totally changed my point of view. I have realized through the over all creative team on this show that this time period was a very sexy time for women. Women put a lot of time and effort into their hair, clothes, and their femininity. In fact it seems to me that women were running things a lot more then in a very behind the scenes way than we are now. I think it looks like a lot of fun! Imagine being "Joan" on the show. The guys may think that they are in charge but I don't think that's entirely true.

Really the women then are just like we are today. We all can run things from behind the scenes or from right up front. Whichever way is more fun to you. We all have our own beauty, naturally, and what we don't have or what we want to improve on we can. There are a million products to help our skin, nails, hair, there are always new clothes, all of this right at our fingertips. We all can create whatever look we would like, and we can also avoid the looks that we don't want. We all have it in us to be a "Joan" or a "Peggy" and to have all the fun that we want!

Emmy Hair!

The Emmys were amazing last night! With sytle galor, and celebrities donning the red carpet in their best outfits, it was a night of style all around. One of the big winners of the evening was January Jones, star of the hit series, "Mad Men". Jones waltzed the red carpet in a beautiful flowing blue dress, and long flowing locks.

Mark Townsend was January's stylist, and created an edgy, fashion-forward look for January Jones. “A textured, asymmetrical bob was the perfect way to incorporate January’s love of editorial fashion and runway style into a feminine, yet tough look,” said stylist Mark Townsend.

Want this look? Try this style recommended from Dove:

1) The night before, use Dove Intensive Repair Damage Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner to strengthen hair and prevent damage.
2) Second day texture was key to achieve this runway-meets-Hollywood look, so I pre-styled her hair the night before. Distribute Dove Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse throughout and blow dry hair with round brush to add lift

3) Set top sections of hair with large, 3 inch Velcro rollers for 15-20 minutes. While rollers set, add extensions in the front only to make hair longer in the front and shorter in the back.

4) Spritz throughout with Dove Heat Defense Therapy Mist to protect against styling damage.

5) Wrap 1 ½ to 2 inch sections of hair around a 1 inch curling iron to create a big, loose wave instead of a tight curl.

6) The next day, reapply mousse to add lift to hair, and blow dry gently with a round brush to freshen up ends but not set perfectly.

7) Rake a small amount of Dove Frizz Control Therapy Taming Cream through hair to add smoothness.

Emmys Tonight! Gaga is a natural brunette, however she bleached her hair blonde, because she was often mistaken for Amy Winehouse. She often refers to her fans as her 'little monsters' and got a tattoo with that inscription as a tribute. She has another six known tattoos, among them a peace symbol, which was inspired by John Lennon whom she stated was her hero, and a curling German script on her left arm which quotes the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, her favorite philosopher, commenting that his "philosophy of solitude" spoke to her.Toward the end of 2008, comparisons were made between the fashions of Lady Gaga and recording artist Christina Aguilera, noting similarities in their styling, hair, and make-up. Now, as the newly crowned "Queen of Twitter", fans can't get enough of the quirky posts and pictures from the life of this pop sensation.

Lady Gaga has burst onto the scene as an inspiration for the music industry, and as a humanitarian. Lady Gaga has spoken at civil rights speeches, and was a campaign advocate for Barack Obama. So what makes Lady Gaga such a star? Well it all starts with the "Haus of Gaga", the group of people who follow her around and help her create the style that makes her unique. The Haus of Gaga produces and creates the "Gaga" look, through the use of runway styles and intricate hair and makeup. It's the Haus the makes her stage show so popular with the fans.
Lady Gaga had a rough beginning but with her first album selling millions, there is no stopping her now. Her hair is one of a kind too, just like her personality. She has recreated style from different era's, such as the short bob and the long and wavy look popular during the "pin-up" era.

Gaga is most known for her outlandish styles, such as a bow made of her own hair, a beehive taller than anyone has done before, and even a hat made entirely from her own hair. It's this creativity that makes Gaga who she is today, and why she keeps on growing. With each new song, she recreates herself, and makes a new image unlike any other. The Oscars. THE night to check out style and of course hair. You have to have the perfect hair to finish a style. Sometimes the hair can be the focal point of a style. You just have to make sure in that case your clothes are not so crazy as to take away from the hair. You clothes to compliment you Doo!

Who comes to mind in this case is Sandra Bullock. It was absolutely her night. She won the Oscar for Best Actress but more importantly (wink wink) her hair was gorgeous. It was absolutely the one thing that stood out about her and made her style. She wore it long and straight, parted with a deep part on one side. I'm sure there was plenty of product it it to help it flatten like that and make it shine! Her make up was very pretty and her dress was beautiful as well. It was by Marchesa and was shimmering beaded gold. Sandra did not decide on an Oscar gown until the day before the show. It was her oldest stepdaughter who was responsible for the decision. "Somebody helped me decide-my oldest stepdaughter," Sandra said. "It was her favorite".

Meryle Streep also looked wonderful wearing her hair in a soft up do. She looked radiant. She has had 15 Oscar nominations and has won. She wore a classy white gown that was designed by Chris March who is a Project Runway season four alum. He said that she was dying to wear two matching Fred Leighten Art Deco black and diamond bracelets and wanted something white and Old Hollywood glamour to go with them. I think they did it she looked very Old Hollywood and very beautiful.

Another wonderful back story on hair and dress for the Oscars is the one about Mo'Nique. She wore her hair pulled straight back in a bun. It was very classic and looked really nice on her. In her hair she wore an gardenia. More on the reason why in a second. For her dress she choose a beautiful cobalt blue color, it was fitted and sleeveless. She wore the orchid just as Hattie McDaniel did in 1940 when she received an Oscar for her role as Mammy in Gone With The Wind. Mo'Niques dress was also the same color as the one worn by Hattie McDaniel. Mo'Nique did all of this as a tribute to Hattie, who she feels paved the way for her. McDaniel was the first African American to be nominated and win an Oscar. Mo'Nique said "So for you, Miss Hattie McDaniel, I feel you all over me."

What a great night! The women looked beautiful and the guys very handsome. However I was a little upset with George Clooney, he has let his hair go way to gray. I love George and he has never been afraid of a little hair color, all of us should use whatever help we can get. Lets hope the gray hair is just for a role or something. He's still beautiful.

Oscar Style Preview!

This Sunday is the Oscars and it is always fun to sit back, watch the show, and check out every ones clothes and hairstyles. The hair can absolutely bring a look together or be a part of a train wreck. Great hair can also save a so-so gown.

According to celebrity stylist Ted Gibson the "it" hair style this year is the slicked back bun. Ted should know, he has styled celebrities Anne Hathaway, Renee Zellweger, and Angelina Jolie's hair for previous Oscar nights. Ted styles this bun loosely in the back to give it a modern look. The loose up do was worn by Anna Kendrick and Sandra Bullock at the Golden Globes.

This is a great feminine style that is easy to do and you can do it at home! It looks great on everyone.

1. Brush out your hair.

2. Make a deep side part on one side and brush your hair back into a ponytail. Add some sort of protectant as you do this step. Anything that will make your hair shiny and prevent fly aways. You could use a conditioning spray.

3. Pull your hair back into a ponytail. As you do this make the ponytail go over to one side in the back, again this makes it look more modern and more feminine. Secure the ponytail. Something like a bungee elastic would be easy to work with but a hair band will work great.

4. Now braid the ponytail and use a hair band at the end of the braid. The braid makes this hairstyle modern and SEXY! Now mess with the braid and loosen it up so it looks like this style was no trouble at all. You always go around looking this hot.

5. Roll the braid into a bun and secure it with pins. Add a little hairspray and your done!

Ted says that Oscar hair is sexy, shiny, deliberate, and gorgeous. You!!!!

Latest in Jessica Simpson Wigs Line, New Skin Care Products Help Freshen Your Look, Shake the Winter Blues

It’s common for the seemingly long winter months to take their toll on one’s energy level and mood, not to mention skin and hair. We all enjoy our work but sometimes don't realize the effect it has on others, and this was an excellent reminder for me.

Jeri Millard runs a shop in Jacksonville, FL called In the Pink that provides support for cancer patients, including specialty wigs for chemo patients when treatment side effects take their hair. Jeri recently supplied a wig to 12-year-old Kessia, who lives in Costa Rica and is currently battling cancer. Kessia had beautiful, waist long hair, and after her first chemo session, lost it all. Predictably, she felt "different" and did not want to go out in public without hair.

With the help of Jeri and others, Kessia now owns a wig, scarf and wig stand. After receiving her wig, Kessia was thrilled and feeling optimistic about her second treatment.

Jim, who owns a coffee plantation in Costa Rica and recently received a visit from Kessia and her family, writes to Jeri:

The little girl is very optimistic and goes for her second chemo treatment soon, the second of ten. The doctors keep Kessia in the hospital for five days with each chemo treatment. You can see the smile and optimism in the little girls face. It is hard to guess what is going through her mother's mind. Her face though has an unmistakable message. ..She will endure the hell of seeing her flesh and blood go through the rigors and cruel side effects of chemo.

I know miracles happen, but it is my guess that she will join Angel Baba (a friend of his who died of cancer) in heaven in the near future. I sincerely hope that I am wrong.
This experience was a moving one for me. It served to reinforce the importance of putting things in perspective. Most things in life that aggravate us or cause us momentary discomfort are really nothing and insignificant, when you compare them to what Baba went through, and what Kessia is going through.

WigSuperstore.com is proud to have contributed in some way to this child’s recovery and optimism as she completes her treatment. Thank you for sharing this with me Jeri it is inspirational.

We are passionate about helping people find the right wig or hair piece, no matter what the purpose or reason, and enjoy hearing how our efforts have helped change and improve the lives of our customers (or others). So that was pretty cool. We all got to see a lot of stars. You know they had spent months picking out there clothes and deciding how to wear their hair. Just like the rest of us when we have a big event. What I was excited about was that so many of the stars wore their hair down, elegant and simple. They let their natural beauty come through. Of course there were the guys and girls who went a little wild (it was the Grammys) but a lot of them went kind of old school- which if done right is always beautiful.

First of all Taylor Swift. Her hair was wonderful. It had been crimped all the way down and she wore it swept to the side. It had that short 1940's look to it. She looked awesome. She is just so cute. I saw video of her of other times during the night and she had it down, still crimped, but down and it looked even better.

OK lets bash on someone for a minute. What is the deal with the long hair, pulled back into a pony tail tight on the sides but on the top it is backcombed up and then back? It is awful. I have seen this on Kim Kardashian and it's too bad because I think she is really pretty but the style is so awful that she can't even pull it off. Hilary Scott of the group Lady Antebellum (who by the way won Best Country Performance by Duo or Group w/vocals) wore this style that night. Her hair totally detracted from her cute self. I saw an album cover of theirs and she had her hair down on it and she looked hot.

Miley Cyrus wore her hair down. It is so long! She looks like she might have hair extensions in and they look AWESOME. I saw her in concert and thought the same thing. Her hair was long and straight at the top with soft waves as it went down. She looked great. If my daughter finds out about the hair extensions she will want some. That would actually be a trend started by a celebrity that would be OK!

Rihanna was stunning as usual. Her hair was very short on the sides and longer on the top. It's not very long on the top and was wavy, straight and pushed up at the same time. Rihanna always takes chances and always looks looks like a supermodel.

Beyonce looked gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. She wore a very soft colored dress that showed off her rockin body and her hair was long, parted on the side, and straight. It was beautiful. The color was great and it was super shiny. It was so pretty. Grammy night was definitely her night! She won big and looked terrific doing it.

The whole night was good I think. There were wigs, hair extensions, updo's, long curly hair, long straight hair, short spiked hair- all different styles and accessories used to make the stars look fantastic. How much fun must that be to be able to try whatever you want. It's like grown up Dress UP! Maybe we should all add a little grown up Dress Up to our lives! Might be fun!

SAG Awards Red Carpet Hair 2010

Well one week removed from the Golden Globes, we have the SAG awards. This time of year is great for fashion and hair. I thought it was very interesting to see the way the hair changed from last week to this week. This night seemed overall more elegant in regards to hairstyles than last week. Lots more up-dos and not near as many risks taken.

Lets start with the ones who did take risks. First would have to be Julie Benz. I wasn't a huge fan of her dress, but her hair looked great. Soft curls all around and swept back to one side, with very pretty bangs. Anna Paquin's dress was very risky, short, revealing, and lots of color. Maybe not quite dressy enough for the SAG awards, more for the Grammys, but it's great she takes risks and the dress is young, like her. Her hair was pretty, she wore it down, softly curled under, and pulled back a little on the sides, a traditional hair style that was a good idea to with a rocker dress. To have gone way out on both would have been too much.

Now for a few of those who played it safer but still looked amazing! Mariska Hargirtay looked great. She wore a bold color fuchsia dress. Bold colors were definitely the trend on the red carpet this year. Her hair was beautiful. She wore it down, with some soft curls, very lightly done. Which lets be honest, is all Mariska needs. She's gorgeous and really all she has to do is be careful to not get in the way of her beauty. The same with Julianna Margulies she looked awesome. She wore a black dress, personally I did not like the cut around the top but the rest of it was long and elegant. Her hair was great. Again she wore it down and soft. She has long, beautiful, dark hair and it looked as though it had been washed and blown dry. Very simple, very stunning.

I think the overall fashion and hair winner was absolutely Kate Hudson. She had on this long white dress by Emilio Pucci. Her hair was pulled back from her face and in a low updo. She reminded me of Sharon Stone when she was so hot in Basic Instinct. Remember that scene when she had her hair pulled up and she was dancing in the bar with her girlfriend and then Michael Douglas? That's exactly what I thought of. Her dress was backless and having her hair up was great because it was an elegant style and it did not interfere with the line of the backless dress. She looked very 1940s movie star.

I think that for many tonight was outstanding, even if they weren't mentioned above. Overall this was a much better looking event than the Globes this year. Congrats to all, and remember you can always visit our site, WigSuperstore.com to find wigs, extensions, and pieces to match the stars styles. There were more big stars there than usual, but not many took chances with their hairstyle. The dress and accessories were far better overall that the hair this year. Now to be fair, it was raining, but most had umbrellas. However, some of the hairstyles had less to do with rain and more to do with poor choice.

Let's start with those who missed it. Fergie was a disappointment . I love her long beautiful hair, but the color was too dark for the dress and there was no style there? Tina Fey wasn't far off with a half-up do, and bangs which were parted and too long. A very funny lady, but not a funny style. Now on to Marion Cotillard, I actually liked the up-do, just not with the asymmetrical dress, and no ear rings? How do you wear your hair up with no ear rings or necklace? Emily Blunt also falls in this category. She was wearing a very pretty pink dress that matched her skin tone and hair color very well, but choose to wear her hair down with soft curls and really no style? To round out those who fell short is, Jennifer Garner. One of my favorite actresses, I've loved her fashion sense in the past, but the this night was not one. The bangs were pulled back and up, but her long gorgeous hair was down in back, and didn't look like it had been touched with a curling iron or flat iron? Sorry Jennifer, but I call them like I see them.

This brings us to my favorite part, the winners! To me Courtney Cox had great hair. She wore a classic up-do with soft curls off the side, brilliant. Another great up style was worn by January Jones of Mad Men. Hers was very fashion forward with the use of an elegant black headband, to match her equally beautiful black dress. Up-do of the night however was worn by Kristen Bell. She got some grief for her short white dress, but I loved it! The hair was up very stylish in the back, and pulled back and down tight in the front and on the sides for the winner in this category.

My personal favorite is the long hair worn down. I know it doesn't look as elegant for awards shows, but done right I think its more stunning. Christina Hendricks of Mad Men, can really do know wrong when she wears her hair down as she did that night. Soft curls all over with all those layers, and it was parted in the perfect place. This style is very similar to the Jessica wig by Henry Margu. Number two for me was Julia Roberts, again soft long curls all over, and parted in the middle to show off those gorgeous red and blond color tones. How could we do this blog without mentioning Heidi Klum? She looked amazing with her beautiful blonde hair down in a perfect off the shoulder dress, very glamorous.

I saved these two for last because I thought they were the best in any category. Sandra Bullock was the only one for me who pulled off the half up style. Very elegant and up in back and on the left side, while slightly down and off her crown to the right were these beautiful soft curls. The grand champion of hair for the evening was Olivia Wilde. Again, to me the only one who got away with rockin the classic up pony. Pulled back softly on top and the sides with a high pony in back done to perfection! Thank you Olivia for showing us how its done.

Best self admitted use of a hairpiece goes to Giuliana Rancic. When Ryan Seacrest accused her of wearing extensions, she said "No, but the pony is a piece". It appeared to be the beautiful Jessica Simpson wrap around pony, but I don't know for sure. If for personal and/or professional reasons, changing your look is easy with hairdo Jessica Simpson hair pieces and wigs, inspired by celebrity stylist Ken Paves. The line includes a variety of wigs and hair pieces, including wigs, multiple hair extension pieces, ponytail extensions and two bangs extensions.

Here are some details on just a few of them:

Because extensions just aren't always enough, hairdo recently launched the first Jessica Simpson wig, Long and Luscious, which feels and styles just like your own hair. It features stretch bands in the back, a velvet-lined front hair line and added lace material to cover the crown part of the cap, not to mention an extremely comfortable design, complete with ear tabs, wafting in the back and an extended nape. And similar to most hairdo pieces, this line of Jessica Simpson wigs is heat-friendly and made with the new Tru2Life® synthetic fiber so it can be styled with a curling iron, flat iron or blow dryer, on medium settings up to 350 degrees, just like your own hair. Any heat styling you choose will stay locked into place until heat styled again.

The Wrap-Around Pony is a highly popular product that adds sleek volume and length to ponytails via a user-friendly attachment, along with a bonus section of hair to wrap around the closure to achieve a sleek look. All color selections are made from a blend of 7-to-12 shades for the most believable, natural-looking results.

Among the 12 Jessica Simpson hair pieces available, the Bump Up the Volume is WigSuperstore.com’s best seller. The 21-inch hair piece extension has a half-circle base with five moldable wires and four pressure-sensitive clips that help create lift and add volume simply by pushing up on the piece. The piece blends with your natural hair and gives you volume and fullness in an instant.

The Human Hair Fringe is the newest bang extension available in the Jessica Simpson collection. The clip-in piece is made from 100% fine human hair and ready to cut, curl, color and wear however you’d like. The "fringe" can be customized and clips in within seconds.

View the complete line of hairdo products by Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves here: http://www.wigsuperstore.com/jessica-simpson-wigs.asp.

Top 5 hairdo Extensions by Jessica Simpson and Celebrity Stylist Ken Paves

Looking for something to spice up your look? WigSuperstore.com is now offering consumers hair extensions and wigs that match the look of your favorite celebs.

Here are the top 10 most popular celebrity styles you can create for yourself using hair extensions or wigs from WigSuperstore.com.

Gwyneth Paltrow has long been known for her iconic fashion sense and long, blonde locks. However, she has reemerged on the trend-setting scene by opting for a shorter, daring long bob.

Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, has been sporting her angular bob for a while, but it is still catching eyes, turning heads and inspiring women everywhere to lose the length. The retro-inspired cut is low-maintenance, yet exudes a glamorous, salon-fresh aura.

Pop superstar Rihanna has quickly become an award-winning singing sensation, a fashion icon and Cover Girl spokesperson. Her style transformation has pushed her to the forefront of the fashion scene, and women are requesting hairstyles by her name now. Trading in bobbed styles for the shorter gamine crop, Rihanna has achieved a playful and fresh look while maintaining a mature, modern edge.

Reality star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad is constantly creating popular looks and responding to changing trends, but the one thing that stays consistent is her fabulous mane. Her flowing locks have loose curls or a slight wave and are worn with a center part for a casual look or side-part for a glamorous image. Stars like Blake Lively, Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker and Penelope Cruz maintain lengthy tresses with a similar sultry sophistication.

Country megastar Taylor Swift may be young, but she doesn’t let her blonde curly hair have a Shirley Temple effect on her image. Taylor’s curls are sexy and playful, yet innocent and powerful, giving her a dual-edged look that gets noticed.

Best known for her pop career and reality TV show, Jessica Simpson openly admits she uses hair extensions to enhance her already fabulous mane. In fact, she launched her own line of extensions with her hairstylist Ken Paves. Her line, HairDo, features real and synthetic clip-in extensions and are available and affordable for everyday customers.

Nicole Richie may make headlines for crazy behavior, friendships and entrance into motherhood, but she makes fashion features with her ever-changing hairstyles. She has rocked multi-colored extensions during her wilder days, glammed up her appearance with a retro bob and achieved a seductive appeal with waist-skimming locks.

As one of the world’s leading super models, Tyra Banks modified her look to suit the whims and demands of the fashion industry. Over the years, her hair color, length and style have changed drastically and quickly. No matter what look she is showing off, her appearance always looks classy and natural. To maintain her top model honors, she uses hair extensions on and off the runway.

When Latin beauty Shakira performs, her shows are energetic and entertaining. Part of her appeal is her unique appearance that is often defined by long, curly hair. On and off stage, her signature style is always being enhanced and modified. Through extensions, she will redefine what it means to have long hair or suddenly contrast platinum hair with black streaks.

Natalie Portman is one of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses because she truly immerses herself in her roles. She has famously shaved her head for a film and has frequently worn extremely short hairstyles. When Natalie needs to add length to her hair quickly, she turns to extensions.

For more information, including photos of celebrity hair extensions and wigs, visit: http://www.wigsuperstore.com/CelebHair.asp. It is a question that is asked and answered everyday. There are many points of view and variables that come into play, but I want to talk about the most simple and universal of them all, customer service. This is a subject that has been debated for years. If any of you have ever bought or sold something then you know something about it. To me there is nothing worse than trying to buy something and dealing with someone who is mean or not helpful. Most companies today realize that this is a very important part of any business. Whether you sell products or services people today want to be treated with respect and kindness.

Customer Service is the one thing that every company has complete and total control over. I said it was simple, and it should be. However, sometimes in companies we have such strict rules in regards to returns, exchanges, promo pricing, etc., that using common sense sometimes fails us. Now to run a successful business you have to have these rules, but your employees also have to have the power to do what makes sense and keep the customer happy so they will come back. All you have to do to keep a customer is to make them happy, having said that you will run into customers that make unreasonable requests that can't be met. That does not mean you can't treat them with courtesy and find a way to keep them happy, and these people fall in the minority of cases. The key is that you have to have employees who sincerely want to be nice to people and help them.

In today's world customer service occurs mainly online, without any verbal communication at all. Think of your favorite websites, and why they are. Chances are you like them because of content and ease of use, both customer service tools. If for some reason your customer has to call, make sure they don't have to look for the number, and please have someone on the phone line that's willing to help. The online marketplace can be a little tricky without face to face interaction, so its important to anticipate what you customer will need at every turn. Whether its design, content, or navigation, build your site with this in mind.

My boss has a great saying we live by, "Take care of your customer, because if you don't, someone else will." Have a great week, and lets try to treat everyone as we would like to be treated.

Hannah Montana makes wigs "cool".

Bookmark this on Delicious
Has anyone ever heard of Hannah Montana? Ok, if you've been living under a rock for the last 3 years there is a show on Disney called Hannah Montana, mostly targeted at young girls and early teens. Miley Cyrus plays, Miley Stewart an ordinary girl by day and a pop superstar by night. Her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus plays, well, her dad Robbie Ray Stewart. Her brother and two best friends know her secret and no one else, hence the title song, "Best of Both Worlds".

I know a lot about Hannah Montana because I have a six year old daughter who watches it every day. At first I thought, oh, I don't want her to get into this, but after watching the show I have to say, I'm glad she likes it. Its a good show. The other thing that interests me is that Miley wears a wig to become Hannah, and I happen to sell wigs for a living. My daughter has one and wears her it all the time. As a matter of fact, a lot of kids wear them, a lot of the time. Now obviously the wigs we sell are a lot different, but the principal is the same. Buy a wig to look different and have fun!

The Hannah Montana movie premiered yesterday, and I was there with my kids. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was, and of course my kids loved it. I grew up in Tennessee myself, so I related to the town she went to back home and all of the people in it. It was closer to the truth than most people will ever know. Spoiler alert!!! The climax of the movie is when Miley reveals to her home town that she is Hannah, and takes off her wig in the middle of a benefit concert to save the town to say she can't be Hannah anymore. But wait, everyone tells her she can be Hannah and they will keep her secret! Happy Ending right? Absolutely, cause then, she puts back on the wig!

I'll let you guys in on a little secret, Miley doesn't have to wear a wig to be "cool". This girl will be huge as long as she is alive. She has a quality and confidence about her that most people don't get till they are at least 40, and she's 16. She has a great voice, and is a good actor. I've seen several blogs today talking about how bad the movie was and I disagree. Anyone who saw it and thinks otherwise knows nothing about children. Her acting was so good that my 5 year old son was sitting in my lap crying because "Hannah" was sad near the end. That's what you get with kids, truth. Maybe we could all be a little less jaded and look at things for what they are, and how we really feel, instead of how we think we should feel in front of other people.

To sum up: Hannah Montana gets a thumbs up from me, and Miley will always be "cool", with or without the wig!

When is the Right Time to Buy a Wig?

Bookmark this on Delicious

This weeks topic is one that seems to lead to more questions than answers, so I wanted to give you some insight into what I've seen other people experience. Today more and more people are wearing wigs for different reasons and in different ways. Over the past 8 years we've seen our business grow and change. Back then 70% of our customers were buying wigs because of hairloss due to illness or medical issues. Now that number is around 50%. Although there are advances each year in medicine, hairloss due to illness has not changed much in the last decade, however more people are wearing wigs now for fashion and style.

Let's talk first about illness. Our belief is that it's alway best to buy a wig before you have a procedure, or chemotheropy done. You can see what color you like the best and figure out what size works best for beforehand. This gives you the opportunity to make the transition as easy as possible. Often people enter in to the situation, then wait until they've lost all thier hair to buy a wig. Experience has shown us its much harder to accept the way you look in a wig if you wait until you have no hair. Times like that can be extreamly difficult, so it's better to be proactive and work on some of the changes you can control.

On the other end of the spectrum are people who wear wigs for fashion. People are discovering ways to change thier look without going to the salon for a cut or color. A new style can be fun for anyone, especially when there is no risk. No worries about waiting for your hair to grow back, or hoping your stylist actually gets the color you want on your hair. If this is why you want to buy a wig then now is also a good time to buy. Most wig wearers become fans for life after they buy the first one. The initial purchase is usually the hardest one. Hair styles come and go quicker than the seasons, usually within a couple of months. Personally, I'm male, I have a receding hair line with thinning in the front and around the crown. It doesn't bother me, I've always kept it cut short all of my life. I also have very fine, soft hair that is pretty easy to manage. I do know some men who are in my shoes that don't like their hair so they were a hairpiece (see example: The "Ron" piece).

Having worked in hair salons for several years its interesting to me to see the ways men and women view their hair. The truth is most men I know are just as concerned with the way their hair cuts go, as their wives or girlfriends are about how, say, a color service goes, they just don't talk about it as much. This brings me to my wife and her hair. She has a glorious head of long blond hair that I love! She loves it too, most of the time. Like most women I know she has days when she adores her hair, and others when she wants to cut it all off. Her hair type is thick and coarse, very healthy, but hard to manage. She recently complained of her hair not being long enough so I got her some Jessica Simpson Hairdo Extensions and she loved them! She realized she could have super long hair for a few hours, then go back to normal.

Thick coarse hair isn't the only hair type that you can have or the only one that people struggle with. It seems that when people have straight hair, they want it curly. When they have naturally curly hair, they want it straight. People with flat hair want more volume. People with thick coarse hair want it more straight. The challenges are endless, however women today have so many more options for wigs and hair extensions than they used to, but I'm not sure the secret is out yet?

Advances in wig making have greatly increased in the past 10 years. The wig caps are lighter and more comfortable. The hair lines are less noticeable with the invention of lace fronts. Wigs and hair extensions made from human hair are much cheaper and easier to find than ever before. So remember the next time you have a bad hair day, it doesn't have to be that way, and you can fix it without seeing your stylist.

How do you feel about your hair? Do you agree/disagree with this blog post? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Brands, Consumers, and Twitter

Recently, I've been meeting a ton a great people on Twitter. If you haven't heard of it Twitter is a socail network where you can post what you're doing in 140 characters or less. Its amazing how useful this tool is. At first I didn't understand it, I still don't understand it fully, but once I started getting the hang of it I learned that this is an excellent way to get your brand out, meet influential people, and find help with almost any topic.

As an internet retailer I have been able to speak directly to customers, and people who could become customers. When the lastest promotions come out, all have to do is send a tweet. Then everyone who follows me can see it, as well as the public stream of non-followers. As you can see this can lead to a lot of spam, so its important to make sure you are sincere in your conversation and links that you put up. I do very little "selling" as aposed to answering and asking questions and posting interesting links. The overall brand promotion comes from my user name, which by the way is "wigsuperstore". If people are interested in what is happening on my profile then they also have the link to our site, so when we do promote they know its genuine.

When I first started I thought starting conversations about wigs and hair extensions would be challenging, however it's been much easier than I anticipated. If you haven't checked out twitter yet give it a try. Their search is almost more powerful than google. When you google a question you get lots of dry data, but when you search on Twitter you get real responses from real people experiencing the same things! The bottom line he is don't get caught up in how many followers you have or how many people you're following. Just be yourself and use your own voice and have fun with it. Have a great and successfull week, and good luck with your tweets!

WigSuperstore.com

Hair Styles for Spring 2009

The time is upon us again. As the snow melts and the grass begins to turn green, we will see women all over the country leave thier hair salons with different colors and cuts than they have been sporting all winter long. Usually most women choose to go lighter in color, and shorter in length as spring approachs to prepare for the long hot summer. The problem is that hair trends change almost as quickly as the weather. Hopefully this post will help out with any questions as to styles and colors happening right now!

This spring you will see lots of braids. Over the last couple of years we've seen the milkmaid braids try to break through to no avail. This year however, it seems to be taking off. Lots of hollywood starlets are choosing the look. Already we've seen Kirsten Dunst, Amanda Bynes, Jennifer Connelly, and Seinna Miller wearing the milkmaid braids. Its a great style to wear if you have long hair and don't want to cut it short this season. To get the look simply part your hair down the middle as you blowdry your hair staright, then part again on each side to make to seperate sections on each side. Tie back each section and braid each side. Take the right one over the top of your head and pin it down and then the left on the same way. Finish up with some hair spray to hold it.

The hot cut right now is the cropped bob. A safe style for anyone, and following the trend at the same time. It's not a complicated or extreame cut, and is very easy to maintain. The bob is actually left over from last year, so if you want a fresh take on it go with the cropped version. This will add texture and sharpness. To change it up even further you can get some fringe style bangs with it, those are really hot right now. This style is a favorite of Posh, Rhianna, Selma Blair, and Reese Witherspoon. A nice wig in this style is Petite Persuasion by Revlon.

No matter if your hair is long or short, its a fact that straight and smooth is still on the rise. Gaining popularity over the last few years, this style continues to be relevant. The flat iron is now overtaking the curling iron in bathrooms across the country. It doesn't matter how thick or coarse your hair is, if you have a nice flat iron and good staightening products you can get this look. If you have thin, or fine hair you probably only need a round brush and a blow dryer.

For examples google some images of Anne Hathaway, Vanessa Minilo, Ashlee Simpson, and Jennifer Aniston. A nice wig in this style is Feline by Raquel Welch.

Now everyone's favorite, which color? Well, platinum blonde is the number one color for spring. If that is to used or doesn't work for you try auburn, blonde highlights, or a mix. The main thing to remember is to have fun with it! Remember, if all this sounds like too much work or if you don't want to damage your hair at all check out all our styles at www.wigsuperstore.com

for the latest in wigs and hair extensions.

Have a great week!

Red Carpet Hair Styles at the 2009 Oscars

What a show last night! Its so much fun to watch the Oscars, but the best part for me is the red carpet before the show starts. The gowns, the jewels, the accessories, and most importantly....the hair! Nothing is better than talking hair, so any comments or questions you have please post and we'll get some good discussion going.

Earlier this year at the Golden Globes we saw a new trend in hair start and continue last night at the Oscars as well. Its the up pony/bun. Many lovely ladies last night were wearing it this way. The first one I saw was Miley Cyrus. She had her hair in a pony sort of casually pulled up into a half bun half updo and it looked awesome! An easy alternative for this look at home would be the Jon Renau Mimic hairpiece. Anne Hathaway used this look, but had hers pulled up higher and tighter for beautiful look that was a little more conservative but classic at the same time. Another Disney star, Vanessa Hudgens, went with a younger version of the up-pony, pulled up just loosely enough to keep it form looking like a bun. These styles can also be referred to as the half twist pony. You can have this look at home by getting some simple clip-in extensions and pulling your hair up about half way in the back, then tease the underneath part before you put the extensions in. After you've teased and put the extensions in simply pull it all up as high or low as you want and fasten with a hair pin.

There were some outstanding ponytails as well. Giuliana Rancic, the E! anchor, had her hair swept back loosely on the sides into a beautiful full pony. One of my favorites was Marisa Tomei, she had a kind of half swept back loose pony, a very easy look to duplicate with the Raquel Welch Updo Curls. The Most gorgeous pony of the night though, had to belong to Beyonce Knowles. Pulled back in a sleek straight pony her hair looked stunning. This is easier to do than you think. I don't know how exactly she did it, but to replicate it all you have to do is put your own hair in a pony, add a pony piece, then wrap your half of your own hair in the pony up around where the piece attaches to hide it and you have an elegant classic pony in minuets.

Although new trends were all over there were some mainstays as well. The best bun of the night belonged to Penelope Cruz. Very tight an elegant she put up all that long beautiful hair and came out looking great. The classic updo was seen as well, but no one worn it better than Meryl Streep. Put up high and no too tight her hair was as beautifully styled as any. Hedi Klum was in a stunning red dress with a straight, sleek mid-length bob. While Sarah Jessica Parker was hair down with loads of soft curls. Angelina Jolie showed up with Brad Pitt looking lovely as always with her hair gently pulled back on the sides and in front, and down in back with lots of curls. For this look try Seductive by Jon Renau. The show stopper though was Kate Winslet. Sporting a "molded" look all over that was sculpted underneath in back and looked very 50's Hollywood.

To get the latest in everything hair follow us on twitter or visit our website WigSuperstore.com, thanks for stopping by!

How Will Social Media Change Your Life?

I am an employee of an e-commerce company (www.wigsuperstore.com), and over the past few weeks I've watched something very interesting happen, people have been flocking to our site via several different forms of social media. The entire internet marketing game has changed, apparently without my knowledge. While traditional methods of advertising still work, you can't do that alone anymore. I've been on Facebook for about year now and really like it. I use it to keep up with friends and family that don't live close to me. I've also had a Myspace page for a couple of years as well for the same reason, but haven't used it much since joining Facebook. I recently started working for WigSuperstore.com and started doing some research on internet marketing, and what I saw was astonishing. One article I read http://mashable.com/2009/01/09/twitter-growth-2008/reported some almost unbelievable unique visit numbers for 2008: Blogger 222 million, Facebook 200 million, and MySpace 126 million.

What does this mean for retailers? It depends on who you ask. Some experts believe its a fad and will flame out as soon as it came. Others think that the retailers that participate wisely will reap the reward of having played this game. I don't totally agree with either train of thought. In todays world any size business can get their brand out there everywhere without spending a penny. Opportunities for sales and new customers lurk around every corner of LinkedIn, and Twitter. It does take effort and sincerity though. You have to be able to back up your product with good customer service and a willingness to listen to the consumer. A bad experience can spread like wildfire, but so can a good one. Retailers must be willing to put themselves out there and try to do the right thing by there customers if they choose to use social media as a form of marketing.

What does this all mean for the consumer? Well, the economy isn't good right now, but people are still spending money, they are just looking for deals. Coupon codes, giveaways, and links to sales can be found in all the networks I've mentioned above, so I suggest taking a look. The customer of today has many tools to decide who they should buy from, but its up to them to use them. Blogs like this one exisist all over the internet. You can find a review of nearly any product you can think of, and it doesn't have to come from the retailers site.

No matter which side of the coin you're on, social media is a good thing, if its used honestly and sincerely. This all boils down to communication. Consumers, and retailers have the opportunity to talk like never before, and in so many different ways. I can't wait to see what happens next!

If you would like you can follow me on twitter at http://twitter.com/wigsuperstore, friend me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=1416912332&ref=profile, or MySpace at www.myspace.com/wigsuperstore.

How To Find the Right Wig

Purchasing a wig can be intimidating. Today I want to talk to you about a few areas you can use to simplify the process.

1. The first thing is to determin your cap size. This simply requires a tape measure. Measure the circumference of your head starting at the front of your hairline, then move behind your ear and to the nape of your neck, then back up the behind your other ear to the hairline. Remember that all brands vary slightly in size, but many of the wigs have adjustable tabs that give you around an 1” of flexibility.

2. Finding the style thats right for you requires a look at your own personal tastes, how much money you have to spend, and any special needs you may have. Depending upon your choices, you can look at a variety of wig styles available with monotop (monofilament top), capless, and 100% hand-tied cap construction. Capless wigs are the more common and are made by sewing together rows of wefts into the shape of a cap. There are more expensive versions that allow the wearer to part and comb their hair in any direction. Monofilament top (or monotop as they are normally called) wigs feature a hand-tied crown giving you more versatility to part and style your hair. The crown has a transparent micro-mesh creating the illusion that the hair is really growing from your scalp. These caps are also known as medical caps and are really popular amongst cancer patients. Last but not least, the 100% hand-tied and lace-front wigs are the most expensive but are the most flexible and comfortable.

3. There are also many different lengths of wigs out their as well. As I said before, this would fall more under a personal preferance type of decision. There is no wrong answer to the length of wig you want. Fashion and style change faster than any other industry, so my suggestion would be to find the look you want first then search for the wig based on that. Google is a powerful tool in finding exactly what you want. Simply try typing in something like long wig, short wig, or bob cut wig. Also remember once you go to that link that many sites have there own search tool to help navigate as well.

I hope this information is helpful. The most important thing to remember is someone new is picking out a wig everyday so don't be afraid to ask questions. If you would like to visit our site we would love to help you in any way we could, just go to www.wigsuperstore.com.

Lace Front wigs, are they worth the price?

What is a lace front wig?

Lace front wigs have been a part of wig making for a long time. It is basically just the front piece of the wig where it meets your natural hair line. They are called "lace" because they are literally made from French or Swiss lace. This type of front piece for a wig was created for women going through hair loss because it would go on easy and match the scalp on the womens hairline very well.

How are they made?

Lace fronts are made by delicately weaving human hair or synthetic hair in a pattern that leaves small holes between the threads as its woven into the mesh of the wig. As the material is woven it is knotted into the lace which give the most natural appearence of hair growing out of the scalp. Some wigs are "hand-knotted" which means they are hand woven, making for a much higher quality wig, but also more expensive. Most lace front wigs are made from all natural human hair but can be made from synthetic fiber as well.

Who are they made for?

Everyone. A lace front wig is very popular among women who have lost their hair due to an illness or medical treatment because it is very comfortable and looks so natural. Visits to the salon for color, perms, or straightening can be very expensive and frequent. In today's world there is an alternative to the hassle. Long wigs and hair extensions are affordable and convenient for anyone who wants the look without the effort. Here are some common questions and answers for anyone considering to purchase a long wig or hair extension.

Who's wearing them?

It would seem that a better question would be "who isn't wearing them?". Hollywood has taken advantage of this new trend and lots of stars are using hair extensions in television and movie roles. Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Simpson, and Britney Spears have all donned locks that aren't theirs in public recently. It is a new fashion trend, and an easy way to change your look quickly.

What are Hair Extensions?

Synthetic fibers or real human hair that is added into your existing hair to increase length, volume, or color. Some extensions can be woven or braided to your hair, (this would require a trip to the salon). The extensions under discussion today are clip-in, and can be added to your own hair easily by yourself at home. Extensions and/or long wigs are made from 100% real human hair, synthetic hair or a mixture of human, synthetic hair. Most extensions are available in many colors and styles. The most popular right now are the Hairdo extensions from Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves. For a look at some of these follow this link http://www.wigsuperstore.com/istar.asp?a=3&dept=103.

Where does the human hair come from?

The most common type of human hair used is from Asia. This hair is usually coarse and straight. Asian hair is typically dark and sleek. European hair is very popular as well. Most European hair comes from southern Italy and Spain. Again, most of this hair is grown dark, but can vary between sleek and wavy. No matter how the hair is grown it can be colored any way you like after you buy one, but most styles have many color options to chose from before you buy. See color chart http://www.wigsuperstore.com/CC_list.asp. Advantages for having human hair is that is very durable, looks authentic, can last a long time, can be chemically processed, and/or styled with heating tools unlike synthetic hair.

Wefts - Hand Made or Machine Made?

A weft is a section of hair attached together at the top and free flowing at the bottom. Wefts come in many sizes and lengths depending on the style of wig or hair extension you have. Wefts can be handmade or machine made. Handmade wefts tend to last much longer and are generally thicker than machine made ones. Someone making a weft by hand can pay much closer attention to detail than a machine. Machine made wefts are still a very good option and are usually less expensive. When choosing it basically comes down to price, and in this case you get what you pay for.

How much are they?

Synthetic hair prices start around $50 to $60 and can go up to $300. Human hair starts around $200 and depending on length, type can go all the way up to $3000. Price is rarely an issue for someone considering any type of purchase, but its always nice to know why there are different price levels. The most important factor is finding the exact one you want. Good luck!

Hair Loss

This post is to give information and educate anyone who is interested in or struggles with hair loss. There are alot of different things that can cause hair loss. An illness or major medical procedure is one of the most common of these. When going through something like this it can cause such physical, mental, and emotional stress that you can lose large amounts of hair quite quickly. The good news about this kind of hair loss is usually the hair will grow back in as it was before.

Medication today is becoming a big part of everyday life. While some medications are necessary that does not mean they won't have adverse effects. Many medications can cause hair loss. We don't know all medications that cause hair loss, but we have proof of a few that do. The most common of these are medicines used in chemotherapy. If you know you are going into this treatment soon, its best to get a wig before you lose your hair. This way you can ensure you are prepared, and won't have to go through a period of not having any hair while you try to find the right wig. It can be a very trying time, and almost everyone I know has had a family member or friend go through this. Other noted medications are anti-depressants, anticoagualnts (or blood thinning medication), and birth control pills or any other hormone changing drugs. Hair loss due to any of these should improve after going off the medicine.

When women become pregnant hormones change in their body. Although this change is natural it can cause temporary hair loss. The amount of hair loss varies from case to case, but can be light or heavy. After the pregnancy most of these cases will improve, but can take up to six months to return to normal.

Sometimes hair loss can be attributed to improper hair care. In todays world chemical treatments on hair have become the norm. You can make your hair curly, straight, blonde, brunette, or any variation in between. While the options are nice, over processing can be extremely tough on your hair and especially your scalp. Damage done to hair will grow out and simply be cut off later. However, damage to your scalp cannot be reversed, and can lead to permanent hair loss. Once the hair follicle is damaged it cannot produce new hair. I'm not saying you should stop going to the salon, this is the best place to go. What I'm saying is be carefull. Too many people (both men and women) damage their hair using in home treaments and chemicals. When you subject your hair to this, make sure you are using a professional stylist.

Male and female-pattern baldness is also very common. This type is genetic and occurs at a cellular level. The pattern can vary for both, but in men usually starts with a receding hair line. In women the pattern is more spotty all over.

While this post doesn't cover everything, these are the main talking points on the subject.
