Here are the top 10 most popular celebrity styles you can create for yourself using hair extensions or wigs from WigSuperstore.com.
- Gwyneth Paltrow has long been known for her iconic fashion sense and long, blonde locks. However, she has reemerged on the trend-setting scene by opting for a shorter, daring long bob.
- Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, has been sporting her angular bob for a while, but it is still catching eyes, turning heads and inspiring women everywhere to lose the length. The retro-inspired cut is low-maintenance, yet exudes a glamorous, salon-fresh aura.
- Pop superstar Rihanna has quickly become an award-winning singing sensation, a fashion icon and Cover Girl spokesperson. Her style transformation has pushed her to the forefront of the fashion scene, and women are requesting hairstyles by her name now. Trading in bobbed styles for the shorter gamine crop, Rihanna has achieved a playful and fresh look while maintaining a mature, modern edge.
- Reality star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad is constantly creating popular looks and responding to changing trends, but the one thing that stays consistent is her fabulous mane. Her flowing locks have loose curls or a slight wave and are worn with a center part for a casual look or side-part for a glamorous image. Stars like Blake Lively, Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker and Penelope Cruz maintain lengthy tresses with a similar sultry sophistication.
- Country megastar Taylor Swift may be young, but she doesn’t let her blonde curly hair have a Shirley Temple effect on her image. Taylor’s curls are sexy and playful, yet innocent and powerful, giving her a dual-edged look that gets noticed.
- Best known for her pop career and reality TV show, Jessica Simpson openly admits she uses hair extensions to enhance her already fabulous mane. In fact, she launched her own line of extensions with her hairstylist Ken Paves. Her line, HairDo, features real and synthetic clip-in extensions and are available and affordable for everyday customers.
- Nicole Richie may make headlines for crazy behavior, friendships and entrance into motherhood, but she makes fashion features with her ever-changing hairstyles. She has rocked multi-colored extensions during her wilder days, glammed up her appearance with a retro bob and achieved a seductive appeal with waist-skimming locks.
- As one of the world’s leading super models, Tyra Banks modified her look to suit the whims and demands of the fashion industry. Over the years, her hair color, length and style have changed drastically and quickly. No matter what look she is showing off, her appearance always looks classy and natural. To maintain her top model honors, she uses hair extensions on and off the runway.
- When Latin beauty Shakira performs, her shows are energetic and entertaining. Part of her appeal is her unique appearance that is often defined by long, curly hair. On and off stage, her signature style is always being enhanced and modified. Through extensions, she will redefine what it means to have long hair or suddenly contrast platinum hair with black streaks.
- Natalie Portman is one of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses because she truly immerses herself in her roles. She has famously shaved her head for a film and has frequently worn extremely short hairstyles. When Natalie needs to add length to her hair quickly, she turns to extensions.

How Important is Customer Service?
What sets you apart from your competition? It is a question that is asked and answered everyday. There are many points of view and variables that come into play, but I want to talk about the most simple and universal of them all, customer service. This is a subject that has been debated for years. If any of you have ever bought or sold something then you know something about it. To me there is nothing worse than trying to buy something and dealing with someone who is mean or not helpful. Most companies today realize that this is a very important part of any business. Whether you sell products or services people today want to be treated with respect and kindness.
Customer Service is the one thing that every company has complete and total control over. I said it was simple, and it should be. However, sometimes in companies we have such strict rules in regards to returns, exchanges, promo pricing, etc., that using common sense sometimes fails us. Now to run a successful business you have to have these rules, but your employees also have to have the power to do what makes sense and keep the customer happy so they will come back. All you have to do to keep a customer is to make them happy, having said that you will run into customers that make unreasonable requests that can't be met. That does not mean you can't treat them with courtesy and find a way to keep them happy, and these people fall in the minority of cases. The key is that you have to have employees who sincerely want to be nice to people and help them.
In today's world customer service occurs mainly online, without any verbal communication at all. Think of your favorite websites, and why they are. Chances are you like them because of content and ease of use, both customer service tools. If for some reason your customer has to call, make sure they don't have to look for the number, and please have someone on the phone line that's willing to help. The online marketplace can be a little tricky without face to face interaction, so its important to anticipate what you customer will need at every turn. Whether its design, content, or navigation, build your site with this in mind.
My boss has a great saying we live by, "Take care of your customer, because if you don't, someone else will." Have a great week, and lets try to treat everyone as we would like to be treated.

Hannah Montana makes wigs "cool".
Bookmark this on Delicious
Has anyone ever heard of Hannah Montana? Ok, if you've been living under a rock for the last 3 years there is a show on Disney called Hannah Montana, mostly targeted at young girls and early teens. Miley Cyrus plays, Miley Stewart an ordinary girl by day and a pop superstar by night. Her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus plays, well, her dad Robbie Ray Stewart. Her brother and two best friends know her secret and no one else, hence the title song, "Best of Both Worlds".
I know a lot about Hannah Montana because I have a six year old daughter who watches it every day. At first I thought, oh, I don't want her to get into this, but after watching the show I have to say, I'm glad she likes it. Its a good show. The other thing that interests me is that Miley wears a wig to become Hannah, and I happen to sell wigs for a living. My daughter has one and wears her it all the time. As a matter of fact, a lot of kids wear them, a lot of the time. Now obviously the wigs we sell are a lot different, but the principal is the same. Buy a wig to look different and have fun!
The Hannah Montana movie premiered yesterday, and I was there with my kids. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was, and of course my kids loved it. I grew up in Tennessee myself, so I related to the town she went to back home and all of the people in it. It was closer to the truth than most people will ever know. Spoiler alert!!! The climax of the movie is when Miley reveals to her home town that she is Hannah, and takes off her wig in the middle of a benefit concert to save the town to say she can't be Hannah anymore. But wait, everyone tells her she can be Hannah and they will keep her secret! Happy Ending right? Absolutely, cause then, she puts back on the wig!
I'll let you guys in on a little secret, Miley doesn't have to wear a wig to be "cool". This girl will be huge as long as she is alive. She has a quality and confidence about her that most people don't get till they are at least 40, and she's 16. She has a great voice, and is a good actor. I've seen several blogs today talking about how bad the movie was and I disagree. Anyone who saw it and thinks otherwise knows nothing about children. Her acting was so good that my 5 year old son was sitting in my lap crying because "Hannah" was sad near the end. That's what you get with kids, truth. Maybe we could all be a little less jaded and look at things for what they are, and how we really feel, instead of how we think we should feel in front of other people.
To sum up: Hannah Montana gets a thumbs up from me, and Miley will always be "cool", with or without the wig!

When is the Right Time to Buy a Wig?
This weeks topic is one that seems to lead to more questions than answers, so I wanted to give you some insight into what I've seen other people experience. Today more and more people are wearing wigs for different reasons and in different ways. Over the past 8 years we've seen our business grow and change. Back then 70% of our customers were buying wigs because of hairloss due to illness or medical issues. Now that number is around 50%. Although there are advances each year in medicine, hairloss due to illness has not changed much in the last decade, however more people are wearing wigs now for fashion and style.
Let's talk first about illness. Our belief is that it's alway best to buy a wig before you have a procedure, or chemotheropy done. You can see what color you like the best and figure out what size works best for beforehand. This gives you the opportunity to make the transition as easy as possible. Often people enter in to the situation, then wait until they've lost all thier hair to buy a wig. Experience has shown us its much harder to accept the way you look in a wig if you wait until you have no hair. Times like that can be extreamly difficult, so it's better to be proactive and work on some of the changes you can control.
On the other end of the spectrum are people who wear wigs for fashion. People are discovering ways to change thier look without going to the salon for a cut or color. A new style can be fun for anyone, especially when there is no risk. No worries about waiting for your hair to grow back, or hoping your stylist actually gets the color you want on your hair. If this is why you want to buy a wig then now is also a good time to buy. Most wig wearers become fans for life after they buy the first one. The initial purchase is usually the hardest one. Remember, when its time for you to visit us at Wig Superstore.com.

What do you think of your hair style?
Recently I've been thinking about why we love and/ or hate our hair. Hair styles come and go quicker than the seasons, usually within a couple of months. Personally, I'm male, I have a receding hair line with thinning in the front and around the crown. It doesn't bother me, I've always kept it cut short all of my life. I also have very fine, soft hair that is pretty easy to manage. I do know some men who are in my shoes that don't like their hair so they were a hairpiece (see example: The "Ron" piece).
Having worked in hair salons for several years its interesting to me to see the ways men and women view their hair. The truth is most men I know are just as concerned with the way their hair cuts go, as their wives or girlfriends are about how, say, a color service goes, they just don't talk about it as much. This brings me to my wife and her hair. She has a glorious head of long blond hair that I love! She loves it too, most of the time. Like most women I know she has days when she adores her hair, and others when she wants to cut it all off. Her hair type is thick and coarse, very healthy, but hard to manage. She recently complained of her hair not being long enough so I got her some Jessica Simpson Hairdo Extensions and she loved them! She realized she could have super long hair for a few hours, then go back to normal.
Thick coarse hair isn't the only hair type that you can have or the only one that people struggle with. It seems that when people have straight hair, they want it curly. When they have naturally curly hair, they want it straight. People with flat hair want more volume. People with thick coarse hair want it more straight. The challenges are endless, however women today have so many more options for wigs and hair extensions than they used to, but I'm not sure the secret is out yet?
Advances in wig making have greatly increased in the past 10 years. The wig caps are lighter and more comfortable. The hair lines are less noticeable with the invention of lace fronts. Wigs and hair extensions made from human hair are much cheaper and easier to find than ever before. So remember the next time you have a bad hair day, it doesn't have to be that way, and you can fix it without seeing your stylist.
How do you feel about your hair? Do you agree/disagree with this blog post? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Brands, Consumers, and Twitter
Recently, I've been meeting a ton a great people on Twitter. If you haven't heard of it Twitter is a socail network where you can post what you're doing in 140 characters or less. Its amazing how useful this tool is. At first I didn't understand it, I still don't understand it fully, but once I started getting the hang of it I learned that this is an excellent way to get your brand out, meet influential people, and find help with almost any topic.
As an internet retailer I have been able to speak directly to customers, and people who could become customers. When the lastest promotions come out, all have to do is send a tweet. Then everyone who follows me can see it, as well as the public stream of non-followers. As you can see this can lead to a lot of spam, so its important to make sure you are sincere in your conversation and links that you put up. I do very little "selling" as aposed to answering and asking questions and posting interesting links. The overall brand promotion comes from my user name, which by the way is "wigsuperstore". If people are interested in what is happening on my profile then they also have the link to our site, so when we do promote they know its genuine.
When I first started I thought starting conversations about wigs and hair extensions would be challenging, however it's been much easier than I anticipated. If you haven't checked out twitter yet give it a try. Their search is almost more powerful than google. When you google a question you get lots of dry data, but when you search on Twitter you get real responses from real people experiencing the same things! The bottom line he is don't get caught up in how many followers you have or how many people you're following. Just be yourself and use your own voice and have fun with it. Have a great and successfull week, and good luck with your tweets!

Hair Styles for Spring 2009
The time is upon us again. As the snow melts and the grass begins to turn green, we will see women all over the country leave thier hair salons with different colors and cuts than they have been sporting all winter long. Usually most women choose to go lighter in color, and shorter in length as spring approachs to prepare for the long hot summer. The problem is that hair trends change almost as quickly as the weather. Hopefully this post will help out with any questions as to styles and colors happening right now!
This spring you will see lots of braids. Over the last couple of years we've seen the milkmaid braids try to break through to no avail. This year however, it seems to be taking off. Lots of hollywood starlets are choosing the look. Already we've seen Kirsten Dunst, Amanda Bynes, Jennifer Connelly, and Seinna Miller wearing the milkmaid braids. Its a great style to wear if you have long hair and don't want to cut it short this season. To get the look simply part your hair down the middle as you blowdry your hair staright, then part again on each side to make to seperate sections on each side. Tie back each section and braid each side. Take the right one over the top of your head and pin it down and then the left on the same way. Finish up with some hair spray to hold it.
The hot cut right now is the cropped bob. A safe style for anyone, and following the trend at the same time. It's not a complicated or extreame cut, and is very easy to maintain. The bob is actually left over from last year, so if you want a fresh take on it go with the cropped version. This will add texture and sharpness. To change it up even further you can get some fringe style bangs with it, those are really hot right now. This style is a favorite of Posh, Rhianna, Selma Blair, and Reese Witherspoon. A nice wig in this style is Petite Persuasion by Revlon.
No matter if your hair is long or short, its a fact that straight and smooth is still on the rise. Gaining popularity over the last few years, this style continues to be relevant. The flat iron is now overtaking the curling iron in bathrooms across the country. It doesn't matter how thick or coarse your hair is, if you have a nice flat iron and good staightening products you can get this look. If you have thin, or fine hair you probably only need a round brush and a blow dryer.
For examples google some images of Anne Hathaway, Vanessa Minilo, Ashlee Simpson, and Jennifer Aniston. A nice wig in this style is Feline by Raquel Welch.
Now everyone's favorite, which color? Well, platinum blonde is the number one color for spring. If that is to used or doesn't work for you try auburn, blonde highlights, or a mix. The main thing to remember is to have fun with it! Remember, if all this sounds like too much work or if you don't want to damage your hair at all check out all our styles at www.wigsuperstore.com
for the latest in wigs and hair extensions.
Have a great week!

Red Carpet Hair Styles at the 2009 Oscars
What a show last night! Its so much fun to watch the Oscars, but the best part for me is the red carpet before the show starts. The gowns, the jewels, the accessories, and most importantly....the hair! Nothing is better than talking hair, so any comments or questions you have please post and we'll get some good discussion going.
Earlier this year at the Golden Globes we saw a new trend in hair start and continue last night at the Oscars as well. Its the up pony/bun. Many lovely ladies last night were wearing it this way. The first one I saw was Miley Cyrus. She had her hair in a pony sort of casually pulled up into a half bun half updo and it looked awesome! An easy alternative for this look at home would be the Jon Renau Mimic hairpiece. Anne Hathaway used this look, but had hers pulled up higher and tighter for beautiful look that was a little more conservative but classic at the same time. Another Disney star, Vanessa Hudgens, went with a younger version of the up-pony, pulled up just loosely enough to keep it form looking like a bun. These styles can also be referred to as the half twist pony. You can have this look at home by getting some simple clip-in extensions and pulling your hair up about half way in the back, then tease the underneath part before you put the extensions in. After you've teased and put the extensions in simply pull it all up as high or low as you want and fasten with a hair pin.
There were some outstanding ponytails as well. Giuliana Rancic, the E! anchor, had her hair swept back loosely on the sides into a beautiful full pony. One of my favorites was Marisa Tomei, she had a kind of half swept back loose pony, a very easy look to duplicate with the Raquel Welch Updo Curls. The Most gorgeous pony of the night though, had to belong to Beyonce Knowles. Pulled back in a sleek straight pony her hair looked stunning. This is easier to do than you think. I don't know how exactly she did it, but to replicate it all you have to do is put your own hair in a pony, add a pony piece, then wrap your half of your own hair in the pony up around where the piece attaches to hide it and you have an elegant classic pony in minuets.
Although new trends were all over there were some mainstays as well. The best bun of the night belonged to Penelope Cruz. Very tight an elegant she put up all that long beautiful hair and came out looking great. The classic updo was seen as well, but no one worn it better than Meryl Streep. Put up high and no too tight her hair was as beautifully styled as any. Hedi Klum was in a stunning red dress with a straight, sleek mid-length bob. While Sarah Jessica Parker was hair down with loads of soft curls. Angelina Jolie showed up with Brad Pitt looking lovely as always with her hair gently pulled back on the sides and in front, and down in back with lots of curls. For this look try Seductive by Jon Renau. The show stopper though was Kate Winslet. Sporting a "molded" look all over that was sculpted underneath in back and looked very 50's Hollywood.

How Will Social Media Change Your Life?
I am an employee of an e-commerce company (www.wigsuperstore.com), and over the past few weeks I've watched something very interesting happen, people have been flocking to our site via several different forms of social media. The entire internet marketing game has changed, apparently without my knowledge. While traditional methods of advertising still work, you can't do that alone anymore. I've been on Facebook for about year now and really like it. I use it to keep up with friends and family that don't live close to me. I've also had a Myspace page for a couple of years as well for the same reason, but haven't used it much since joining Facebook. I recently started working for WigSuperstore.com and started doing some research on internet marketing, and what I saw was astonishing. One article I read http://mashable.com/2009/01/09/twitter-growth-2008/reported some almost unbelievable unique visit numbers for 2008: Blogger 222 million, Facebook 200 million, and MySpace 126 million.
What does this mean for retailers? It depends on who you ask. Some experts believe its a fad and will flame out as soon as it came. Others think that the retailers that participate wisely will reap the reward of having played this game. I don't totally agree with either train of thought. In todays world any size business can get their brand out there everywhere without spending a penny. Opportunities for sales and new customers lurk around every corner of LinkedIn, and Twitter. It does take effort and sincerity though. You have to be able to back up your product with good customer service and a willingness to listen to the consumer. A bad experience can spread like wildfire, but so can a good one. Retailers must be willing to put themselves out there and try to do the right thing by there customers if they choose to use social media as a form of marketing.
What does this all mean for the consumer? Well, the economy isn't good right now, but people are still spending money, they are just looking for deals. Coupon codes, giveaways, and links to sales can be found in all the networks I've mentioned above, so I suggest taking a look. The customer of today has many tools to decide who they should buy from, but its up to them to use them. Blogs like this one exisist all over the internet. You can find a review of nearly any product you can think of, and it doesn't have to come from the retailers site.
No matter which side of the coin you're on, social media is a good thing, if its used honestly and sincerely. This all boils down to communication. Consumers, and retailers have the opportunity to talk like never before, and in so many different ways. I can't wait to see what happens next!

How To Find the Right Wig
Purchasing a wig can be intimidating. Today I want to talk to you about a few areas you can use to simplify the process.
1. The first thing is to determin your cap size. This simply requires a tape measure. Measure the circumference of your head starting at the front of your hairline, then move behind your ear and to the nape of your neck, then back up the behind your other ear to the hairline. Remember that all brands vary slightly in size, but many of the wigs have adjustable tabs that give you around an 1” of flexibility.
2. Finding the style thats right for you requires a look at your own personal tastes, how much money you have to spend, and any special needs you may have. Depending upon your choices, you can look at a variety of wig styles available with monotop (monofilament top), capless, and 100% hand-tied cap construction. Capless wigs are the more common and are made by sewing together rows of wefts into the shape of a cap. There are more expensive versions that allow the wearer to part and comb their hair in any direction. Monofilament top (or monotop as they are normally called) wigs feature a hand-tied crown giving you more versatility to part and style your hair. The crown has a transparent micro-mesh creating the illusion that the hair is really growing from your scalp. These caps are also known as medical caps and are really popular amongst cancer patients. Last but not least, the 100% hand-tied and lace-front wigs are the most expensive but are the most flexible and comfortable.
3. There are also many different lengths of wigs out their as well. As I said before, this would fall more under a personal preferance type of decision. There is no wrong answer to the length of wig you want. Fashion and style change faster than any other industry, so my suggestion would be to find the look you want first then search for the wig based on that. Google is a powerful tool in finding exactly what you want. Simply try typing in something like long wig, short wig, or bob cut wig. Also remember once you go to that link that many sites have there own search tool to help navigate as well.
I hope this information is helpful. The most important thing to remember is someone new is picking out a wig everyday so don't be afraid to ask questions. If you would like to visit our site we would love to help you in any way we could, just go to www.wigsuperstore.com.
